The time to acquire a target is a function of distance and size. A larger hit area means faster, more confident interactions. But here's the craft: the button looks small and refined, while feeling generous and forgiving.
The Rule of Thumb
For mobile, use larger hot area for item with less than 44px visual size.
For desktop, it’s 24 px.
